Abby Bee has been a member of St. George’s for almost all of her life. She grew up in this parish, coming with her parents in 1964. After college, she returned to the area and in 1983 married her husband, Ken. She served as a lay person on the St. Georges Vestry for many years, including 2 terms as warden. She also served in several ministries, including altar guild, choir, and as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from SUNY Plattsburgh with a concentration in Mass Media/ Television Production. She has worked in many different occupations, including Holistic health care, the Life Insurance underwriting industry, and most recently as a home health care worker and Church secretary.
Deacon Abby was ordained in June 2023, after completing the Episcopal Diocese of Albany Deacon Formation Program. One of her diaconal duties will be serving in atrium of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd teaching Level I. She wants the young children of the parish to begin their Christian journey by falling in love with our Savior, Jesus Christ!
Abby and Ken live in Mechanicville, and have four grown children and two grandchildren.
